General of groups
In the Groups section, the administrator may create different groups. These groups can be used, for example, in courses, i.e. specific courses can be assigned to a particular group.
Groups can be, for example, student groups, teams or other similar groups. Some of the reports can be filtered by group.
If, for example, all Priima use is self-sufficient, individual non-stop learning, then the use of groups may not be necessary.
The administrator may create groups and link them to a specific course or courses. When a user is removed from the group, they will also be removed the courses to which the group has been linked.
Please note! If a user is set as the course administrator, they will not leave the course even if the group is removed from the course or they no longer meet the conditions of the dynamic group attached to the course. Course administrators must always be removed manually from the course.
Adding and removing members
The administrator may create groups manually. During creation, the group can already be connected to the desired course or courses. This can also be done later. Once a group has been created, members can be added to it. The Search users function and the Search function, wherein it’s possible to use existing user data fields, are available when adding members. When adding members, it is possible to choose whether to send an email to users about joining the course.
Targeting a course to a group
Group settings can be used to assign courses to a group. Group members are directly added as members to these courses and the courses appear to them in the Courses view on the dashboard. If necessary, the course can be marked as required, in which case the learner will be shown the Required Course entry in connection with the course, and the completion of this course can also be monitored in the reports in the views of the required courses. When members are added to a group, for new members, that course is also targeted as required.
On the other hand, a course can be predetermined as required for the group without the group members ending up as members of the course. In this case, the default selection should be turned off under Automatic course membership for group members
Landing page
You can select a start page for the group in the group settings. Options include the dashboard, course catalog, or a specific course. In this choice, it is good to consider what it is essential for group members to be the first to appear when they log in to Priima. For example, in the case of a group to which only one course is assigned, which is repeated at certain intervals, it is convenient to assign that particular course directly as a start page.
