The administrator of the environment can create user accounts manually individually or using a csv file in a larger number at once.
A new user account is created in the Users view using the Create users button. If creating an individual user account select Create new and Create one user.
While creating a user account mandatory fields are
- first name
- last name
Other possible information is a phone number and an address, as well as a supervisor. If user data fields have been introduced in the environment, the appropriate data can also be selected or entered depending on the field.
The Next button at the bottom lets you move on to the next stage of user creation. The authorization level and language are selected for the user, and he can be added to a group and/or course or courses. The username can be valid indefinitely (no restrictions) or it can be defined for a certain period of validity in dates. The validity period of the user account is shown in the user information. End date always means that date until 23:59.
After this, in the next step, a username and password are selected for the user, and a password message can be sent. The username can be an email address, name or something else (the administrator of the environment can choose the username). The password can be generated automatically or entered in the field. If you want to inform the user about the creation of the account, i.e. send a message, select the Send message to new (and existing) users check box.
It is possible to add a customized header and content text to the message. Then click the Create button.
Priima then displays the information of the created user. If there is already a username with the same email address, Priima will also display information about this and update that user’s information in the way selected during creation (for example, course and group membership).
If the next individual user is created immediately after the first created user, the Create next user button can be clicked. Priima offers the same choices and information for this user account.
If there is a need to create several user accounts at once, this can also be done by importing the data into Priima using a csv file.
