The general message board of the course is at the top of the menu on the left side of the course. Not all courses necessarily have such a general discussion area at all, because it is possible to add discussion blocks to the course as well as to the content pages as needed.
Course-specific discussion areas can be used to start new discussions and answer to other users’ posts and topics. Emoticons and attachments can be included in messages. You can like other users’ comments. Messages in the discussion area can be filtered with All, New and Personal filters.
The course administrator and instructors may monitor statistical data on user activity in summary and per user.
