Turn-in assignments may be:

  • individual or group assignments
  • an optional or mandatory assignment
  • time-limited or without a specific return time

Example of a turn-in assignment on the course content page. The end of the turn-in period is specified in the assignment.

The turn-in method depends on the settings of the assignment. Usually, the assignment shows what manner of turn in is required. Depending on this option, the Turn in file and/or Write answer buttons are available possibly both.

If you want to turn in a file, you can upload it from your own device or a cloud service, if you are using one. It is possible to write in the text editor and give the turn-in a description.

Tip: When submitting multiple files, or both a file and a text response, you can edit the submission until the examiner has evaluated your assingment.

Turning in an assignment
The saved file column shows the type of file you have turned in. You can remove the file with the recycle bin button if necessary, and edit text answers with the pen icon.

The file(s) and/or written text answer(s) you turn in are also stored in the Materials view.

Once you’ve included the required content to your submission, click the Restore for Submit for evaluation button. Priima is still asking for confirmation that your assignment is ready to be evaluated. You can edit the submission until your task is evaluated. Evaluation locks the submission.

You can edit the submission by clicking the Edit submission button until your assignment is evaluated.

You will then see either the assingment is automatically approved or Waiting for evaluation if the submission requires the examiner to evaluate the assignment.

Turn-in assignments may also include peer review. The peer phase will activate after the assignment has been reviewed.

After accepting the return, it is also possible to obtain a sample response file from the return task, if the author of the task has set one. If a sample answer has been set for the task, you will see it in the context of your return and in the task block on the course page.

Mandatory assignments can be checked Dashboard > Assignments screen or in the course information at Tasks. When there are 14 days to an assignment’s due date, the user is shown an orange warning symbol and, when there are 7 days to the due date, a red symbol is shown.
