Opening and closing a course

When the course is ready to be opened for the learners, click the Open course button in the course settings view.

Before opening the course, you should check that the passing criteria has been set, other settings are in order and the course content is ready.

In the course opening pop-up it is possible to check

  • course name,
  • description,
  • passing criteria,
  • mandatory assignments,
  • schedule,
  • amount of members and
  • visibility time frame.

If you want to limit the implementation of the course to a certain time, the opening and closing date (date and time) of the course can be specified with the visibility time frame. In this case, learners can only access the course during this period. At this point, it is good to note that the membership duration determinations in the completion conditions also affect how the course is available to the learner. In the course settings, membership can be set to end, for example, at completion or after a certain period of time after the start of membership.

The course can also be scheduled later and also closed in the middle of a possible schedule. The course opening button changes to Schedule / Close course button when the course is open.
