If the instructor is a student in one or more courses, they can change their role from the top bar behind the profile picture. (The instructor/student switch is not visible if the instructor is in Priima as an instructor only.)
The same symbol can only be available as a student or as an instructor in a given course.
Jos on kurssilla kurssin hallinnoijana, on myös mahdollista muokata kurssin asetuksia.
If you want to see your own course from a student perspective, you should do it with a separate test student account.

Courses
The dashboard’s Courses section shows active, closed and archived courses and the course templates in which you have an administrator or instructor role. Course search and filtering functions are also available on the dashboard.
Please note that the first view only shows active courses.
The Closed screen shows courses that are not open to students (not yet opened or already closed). Course administrators may archive or delete closed courses.
The templates tab shows the course templates that you have created or have been linked to as an instructor or administrator. Other course templates can be viewed when you start creating a new course, i.e. by clicking the Create new course button.
The Archived tab shows all archived own courses.
The All tab shows all your own courses.
If there are many courses, make use of the Filter function.
Assignments
The Assignment section shows all the mandatory assignments on all courses and their completion status. Assignments may be sorted by due date or by the date of publication.
Please remember that assignments that are Underway will be shown first. Click the Ready button to see the tasks in the Ready status.
Click on the name of an assignment to open that assignment’s screen in the course.
More information from Completion guidelines.
Learning paths
The learning paths section shows the learning paths in which you are the administrator.
Results
The Results section shows course completion results and the completion dates.
The Results section contains a wide range of statistical information on course completion, either by course or by student. If learning paths are enabled in Priima, the results can also be monitored by path.
Result data can be searched for with the Filter function, according to the status of the course, time span and the number of results.
More information from Completion guidelines.
My teaching
My teaching view opens behind the clock icon in the upper right corner. My teaching brings together announcements that support training. The view shows things that were visible before the feature was added on the Notifications tab of the Messages section of the Desktop. These include, for example, course announcements. All notifications in the view can be marked as read at once.

Message center
There is a speech bubble icon in the upper right corner, which opens the message center. In the message center, you can see the messages and chat messages that have entered the course discussion areas. Chat messages were previously known as learning communities, and it is a function that can be activated separately in the environment administration. Chat messages can be used for two-way conversations or form chat groups.
All messages entered in discussion areas and chat messages can be marked as read at once.

Materials
Materials section can be found behind the profile picture. In the Materials section, you can save different files with the Upload New File function, one or more file at a time. The file may be private or shared to any individual or more courses, users or groups.
- The maximun file size is 400 MB.
- It is also possible to upload video files, the maximum size of a single video is 4 GB.
Files can be updated with the Upload New Version function, allowing Priima to record the version history of the file. If possible, we recommend embedding/linking to videos on YouTube or Vimeo, for example.
A shared file can only be deleted by its owner. To help you find a file, you can add different tags to a file and search for files using various filters.
When more files are uploaded in the materials, you should use the filtering functions. With the Filter function, you can search for your own files or files shared to you by others, as well as use different file types (e.g. photo, video, etc.) as a filter.
When an image is added to materials, it can be cropped in Priima. When you click on the image in the materials, it opens in a new window full screen. In this mode, you can also take a closer look at the image by clicking the plus icon in the upper right corner to see the image at its actual size. The closing cross in the upper right corner returns you to the original view. This feature is very useful, especially for images and diagrams that contain more detailed study content.
Tests with multiple-choice questions are also created in the Materials section. Take a closer look at the instruction Creating a test.

Main menu location
It is up to the user to choose whether the main dashboard menu (Courses, Assignments, Learning Paths, etc.) is displayed on the left or at the top of the screen. The selection is made by clicking on your own profile picture and selecting Settings. On a mobile device, the menu is always displayed at the top to optimize usability.
